Your Child Can Have a Happy, Successful and Fulfilling Life – With Your Guidance
With a heavy focus on scripting and rote memorization, behavioral therapies are setting the bar low and telling parents (maybe without even knowing it) to accept very little for their children. Your child can do so much more than memorize and perform empty social cues. They can have real, reciprocal and satisfying relationships.
They can live an independent life, go to college and have a career. They can do so much more than just barely get through life – and you can help them do it. After all, you’re their parent – don’t you know what’s best for your child?
We think so – that’s why RDI® puts the parent in charge of their child’s growth and development.
RDI® Is a Different Kind of Autism Remediation
RDI® was created to help parents connect with their child in a real and meaningful way. While behavioral therapies like Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) are generally accepted as the go-to autism remediation treatment, we realized that something was lacking in those types of therapies.
The problem with behavioral therapy is that it teaches autistic children what they “should” do at school or in social situations, but it doesn’t teach them why. The result of this is that many autistic children grow up not really knowing how to get through life, only that they must do certain things (make eye contact, socialize in “appropriate” ways that don’t make others uncomfortable) and avoid doing other things (stimming, playing in “unacceptable” ways – e.g. lining up toys) in order to receive praise and avoid punishment.
Intro to RDI®: An Online Course
There is an alternative to the status quo. If you believe your child can do more than behavioral therapies say they can do, RDI® might be right for your family.
In this RDI® Online Course, you’ll learn:
- More about autism
- All about the RDI® Program
- And how you can connect with your child in a meaningful way
The next course is coming up soon on February 27th from 10 am to 3 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. This is a live webinar and will not be recorded. Can’t make it? The Intro to RDI® Course for Parents is held monthly.
